India’s 70th Independence Day Celebrations

The Executive Board is pleased to invite you, together with your friends and families, to special celebrations on the occasion of India’s 70th Independence Day. The event is being held in one of the beautiful theaters in the Netherlands, the historically famous, AFAS Circustheater in Scheveningen/The Hague. NIA is putting together this extravaganza of colors and cultures of India as “Unity in Diversity” in cooperation with several Indian Diaspora organizations.

Date: Monday, 15th August, 2016

Time: 18:00-22:00 hrs

18:00 – 19:00 hour: Meet and Greet with refreshments

19:00 – 22:00 hours: Unity in Diversity – Indian Culture and Colors Extravaganza

The program includes a variety of music and dance performances from various regions/states of India including Indian origin artists and Dutch artists

Dress Code: Traditional Indian/ evening attire

August 15: Independence Day

On the occasion of India’s 69th Independence Day a cultural extravaganza initiated by the Netherlands-India Association is being jointly hosted by a number of Indian Diaspora organisations in the Netherlands.

Date: Saturday, August 15, 2015

Time: 6 pm to 9.30 pm

Venue: the Royal Theater (Koninklijke Schouwburg), Korte Voorhout 3, 2511 CW, Den Haag


6 to 7 pm meet and greet with refreshments & sweets

7 to 9 pm cultural extravaganza with a variety of vocal and dance performances by Indian/ Hindustani and Dutch Artists 

The event is entry free

Pre-registration for this event is obligatory and will be on a ‘first come, first served’ basis

The Netherlands-India Association together with the Friends Foundation of Gandhi Center has taken the initiative to organize and host a joint program on this occasion. Main sponsors such as the Netherlands India Chamber of Commerce and Trade and the Indian Business Chamber are joining this celebration. The event is also being supported by several other organisations including Kallol Bengali Association, the Foundation for Critial Choices for India, Taj Events, Indian Culture Trust, Hindi Parishad Nederland, Aadhaar & Indiawijzer to make the occasion truly a pan-Indian celebration in the Netherlands.
